In 2024, our auxiliary was reestablished after decades of inactivity, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the mission of our fire company. This group focuses on essential fundraising, community service, event support, and emergency assistance, all vital to our operations.
The auxiliary offers an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting their local volunteer fire company. By becoming a member, you will contribute directly to the efforts of our dedicated firefighters and emergency responders. This collaboration aims to strengthen our community, ensuring that those who commit their lives to our safety have the resources they need.

Administrative Member
You do not need to ride a firetruck or be certified to join our company. We are actively seeking dedicated volunteers to fill vital administrative and support roles, including administrative management, financial support, event coordination, community engagement, and education. All skill sets can be utilized.
If you are passionate about serving your community and prefer not to undergo training or respond to emergency incidents, you can still fulfill crucial roles. We warmly welcome new members who can bring fresh perspectives and dedicate their time to helping us uphold the outstanding level of service we have consistently provided.
Administrative members are expected to actively participate in and contribute to the organization’s non-emergency functions. You can apply your enthusiasm for volunteering, along with your background and experience, to support the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company in numerous ways.
Operational Member
Are you passionate about serving your community as a firefighter or in the Emergency Medical Services? Then, this membership is tailored just for you! Operational members are those who are at least 16 years old, in good health, and ready to complete the required training to become a certified Emergency Responder in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Once you become a member, all the training you need will be provided at no cost! Throughout the approximately six months of training, you will receive classroom and extensive hands-on instruction on how to become a firefighter or emergency medical technician. Additionally, all operational members will complete training in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic operations-level training in Hazardous Materials.
The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, a subsidiary of the esteemed University of Maryland, offers accredited training courses that provide college credits. We understand the importance of flexibility in your learning journey, which is why you have the freedom to choose between attending the local fire training academy or any of the other numerous academies located throughout the state of Maryland.
Cadet Member
The Cadet program offered by the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company is an amazing opportunity for young people aged 13-15. The classes follow the school year and start in August. The program is highly structured, offering a blend of hands-on training and classroom instruction. Participants are instilled with a sense of pride, honor, and community spirit. They also have the privilege of wearing a uniform, further fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility.
Membership Requirements
If you are considering becoming a member of the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company, it’s important to understand the obligations that come with this role. As a prospective member, you would be expected to uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism at all times. This involves a commitment to ongoing training and education to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Collaboration and teamwork are also essential as a prospective member. Working effectively with fellow volunteers and other emergency services is crucial in ensuring coordinated and efficient efforts during emergencies. Clear communication, mutual respect, and a positive attitude would be important qualities to embody in this role.
